However, there are times when exercising becomes too tedious or too tiresome. 1. Keep the habit. Bear in mind that in anything, the best way to continue is simply – never stop. This means avoiding long break periods in exercising. If you are on an exercise that has become a habit, don't lose it at the time you think it isn't working.
2. Put the fun in it! Do not settle for an exercise that you are not interested in doing. The options are limitless when it comes to moving your body and exercising.
3. Schedule. Just like any goal, set-aside time for exercise. Do not situate it during times of anticipated tasks. Otherwise, you will find it too easy to give it up.
4. Get a friend who will join you. The social aspect in working out, experts say, can help boost your goal and commitment to it.
5. Let enjoyment come before effort. After working out, determine the parts that you enjoyed doing and those that you wished you didn't do. This will help you focus more on enjoying the exercise rather than thinking of the habit as an unavoidable task to keep you healthy.
6. Measure your progress. Weighing scales don't tell you everything because the increase in your muscle can actually offset the fat that has decreased. Try recording the number of sit-ups and push-ups that you have done to help you determine if the routine is making you stronger and healthier.
7. Start simple and small. Doing a hundred push-ups on your first exercise is not a good way to start. In fact, it can break your motivation. Experts say it is wiser to start below what you can during the first weeks in order for you to build the exercise habit. Doing it otherwise might get you strained and disinterested.
8. Impress no one. As it should be, this is about you and what you want to achieve for your body and overall health; hence, go for it and nothing else. Exercising to let people see your efforts is not the way to do it.
