Three Ways To Make Sure Your Lungs Stay Healthy
Our lungs are a pair of organs that draw air so that oxygen would be able to pass to our blood so that our bodies would function properly. Think of your lungs as if they were fans that suck out the bad air and at the same time lets the good air in. They are organs that are vital to our survival, and we only have one pair of lungs to last us our whole lives.
It's important that we keep them in good shape even if we're young and energetic. You don't ever want to have problems with your lungs; it's simply too terrible a thing to experience. So how do we make sure that our lungs stay healthy and in good shape? Here are a few things that we could do. They're inexpensive, and they're free too.
1. Get some cardio exercises in; get those lungs working in good condition.
Exercise is crucial to one's health. We burn away extra calories that we may have taken in on our daily meals, shed off those unwanted inches on our waste, thighs and every other problem area that many people have. And as an added benefit, we got to work out our lungs and our heart well enough that our endurance and stamina levels go up.
This means we can jog farther, get tired a lot lesser and feel more energetic day in and day out. Being able to breathe in deep is one of the best feelings in the world. Try it out for yourself. Try swimming and go on and hold your breath for as long as you can. You'll find that your instinct takes over and that your body is going to fight every ounce of will you put forth just so you could take a breath. Being deprived of air is not the best of things to experience. Imagine if the best you could do is only breathe in about a quarter of a lung-full of air – that'd be terrible.
2. Put that cigarette down, it's not going to do you any good.
Smoking is a habit that many of us pick up as we grow older. Our friends may introduce these things to us, or we may just try it on for size simply out of curiosity. If you've tried smoking, ask yourself if you really need them. Do they give you any added benefit? Perhaps not. Your stamina is literally going to decrease once you start smoking. You'll find it hard to be able to reach a mile or two when you're going out on a jog if you've subjected yourself to smoking. It's an ugly habit, and you simply must have to quit – and that's for your own good.
3. Stay away from second hand smoke or any exhaust.
Whether it's second hand smoke or a car's exhaust, breathing in fumes is a very bad thing to do to yourself and to your lungs. Do yourself a favor and stay away from them as best as you can.
